Disk space management is a critical aspect of web hosting that impacts websites’ performance and reliability. As websites grow and accumulate data, the need to allocate additional disk space becomes necessary. WHM offers a robust platform for administrators to manage multiple cPanel accounts efficiently.
One key feature of WHM is increasing disk space for individual cPanel accounts, ensuring they have enough storage to handle their data requirements.
In this detailed guide, we will go through the process of increasing disk space for a cPanel account in WHM, ensuring you can manage your server resources effectively and maintain optimal performance for all hosted websites.

- Login to the WHM Panel with your root credentials.

- After logging in, you will be in the WHM main interface. You can use the search bar at the top left & search for ‘Quota Modification.’

- Click on ‘Quota Modification’ to open the quota modification tool.
- You will see a list of all cPanel accounts on your server in the Quota Modification interface.

- You have to click on the ‘Modify’ button to change the disk quota.

- You have to enter the new disk quota in the ‘New Quota (MB)’ field. This value should be in megabytes (MB). For example, if you are looking to increase the disk space to 5GB, enter 5120 MB. (Double-check the value to ensure it is correct and appropriate for the account’s needs).

- Once done, click the ‘Save’ button to apply the new quota. WHM will process the change and update the account’s disk space allocation.

- After clicking, you will receive a confirmation message indicating that the quota has been successfully updated.

- It’s time for the verification! Return to the ‘List Accounts’ page to verify that the new disk space quota has been applied.
